Electrolytic can chassis mount wafers
Hi all, does anyone know where I can find replacement capacitor can mounting wafers, I think they are made out of phenolic material. I had a broken one on my teletone and fabricated a new unit out of a piece of phenolic to replace but way to much work. Saw a few on eBay but would like to get a set of the metal as well as the phenolic,

Antique Electronic Supply has them - their part numbers S-H120 and S-H121. They're called "Twist Mount Can Mounting Plates" by AES. They also have the metal types too.

Using circuit board as wafer substitute to hold separate caps
Thought crosses my mind
 Okay...If one has to use separate caps usually meant for circuit board work, I was thinking that you could make small circuit boards roughly the size of the cap holder wafers. Except instead of the big center hole and slots for chassis mount caps, have several holes for cap thru-hole leads with islands of circuit board copper trace. And you'd solder the wires and resistors that went to the old multicap lugs to these islands. Make the islands region smaller than the chassis cutout, and mount the board to the chassis like the old cap wafer was. You'll probably want to maintain isolation of the cap grounds from the chassis, to avoid ground loops, if the original was also done that way. This would also allow the use of big caps without having to use cap clamps. To make it look more like the original construction than a repair lashup.
