Some Ebay Sets
http://cgi.ebay.com/Good-Working-Vin...#ht_500wt_1156
This is the first time I've seen one of these on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Montgomery-Ward-...#ht_500wt_1156 A little newer set: Circa 1990. http://cgi.ebay.com/GE-Porta-Color-T...#ht_500wt_1156 This is one of those sets you'd put in your kitchen; decent picture. http://cgi.ebay.com/PANASONIC-TV-197...a#ht_926wt_907 We know this seller all too well. Believe me, if I had the money, I'd pick these sets up in a heartbeat. He's got some great TV's for sale, just all too expensive. http://cgi.ebay.com/PHILCO-FORD-COLO...2#ht_874wt_907 I know this is about the 5th time I've posted this set, but our friend from Villa Park lowered its price again to $39.99. For the condition its in, I still don't think it's worth it. http://cgi.ebay.com/Old-school-Panas...#ht_500wt_1156 Another contemporary set. http://cgi.ebay.com/Old-RCA-Color-Tr...#ht_500wt_1156 Once again, another early-1980's RCA. http://cgi.ebay.com/WHITE-RETRO-VINT...#ht_6413wt_976 This one's not too far from my house. http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-TV-1970S...#ht_500wt_1156 I haven't seen an RCA like this before. http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-3723-MAG...t_11502wt_1277 I'm sure someone has posted this set before. However, it's very expensive. http://cgi.ebay.com/MOD-ORANGE-PANAS...ht_5411wt_1141 http://cgi.ebay.com/RCA-VINTAGE-B-W-...ht_3469wt_1141 http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Sylvania...#ht_500wt_1156 http://cgi.ebay.com/GoldStar-LG-Vint...#ht_500wt_1156 http://cgi.ebay.com/1981-vintage-Zen...4#ht_598wt_907 http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Color-RC...#ht_500wt_1156 http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-ZENITH-9...#ht_757wt_1141 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Vinta...#ht_500wt_1182 These vintage cable boxes are few are far-between so I thought I'd post one here. There's also a 1964 Zenith, a 1977 General Electric, and a 1979 RCA. I couldn't get the links to load properly though. And countless more... |

The $449 Magnavox has been there for a long time, it started out at $1200.
I bet he would have a hard time finding a buyer at $49. I've seen sets like it wind up in the outdoor lot of the Thrift here for $20. Not a lot of demand for large 60's consoles unfortunately. |

Not sure if anybody has posted this link, but here's a Zenith that doesn't come up often.

Opening AudioKarma pictures
OK..this is killing me, and I see Eric is here...so...I'll ask!
All of those links above (and every other ebay link), refuse to open on any of my Browsers! They show link locations like: http://redirectingat.com/?id=1010X50...23ht_874wt_907 And I need to find and copy-paste the ebay number (360304166050 on this one), into an ebay search, to open, and see, the item. What gives? I've checked my Host files and http://redirectingat.com is not listed as a problem, but that link refuses to open...??? Harry |

hmmmm..found the problem
OK--forget about the link problem I just asked about!
Seems my Browsers refuse to open links starting: http://redirectingat.com/?id=1010X502... but instead, want to see it as http://www.redirectingat.com/?id=1010X502... and, by adding that www. everything is happy...go figure! |

I knew we'd start seeing these older sets for sale after the DTV transition, before DTV converter boxes came on the market. I guess a lot of folks believed that dire warning in 2006, and again in 2009, that "your television will go black after February 17 or June 12" (2009; not sure what the DTV transition date was supposed to have been in 2006). I bet those older TVs have been sitting in basements, garages, etc. all that time, while their owners either went out and bought new flat-panel sets or, in some cases, went without TV. Also, I think a lot of people wanted to get a FP set (regardless of the DTV transition) after seeing the vastly improved picture (compared to 4:3 NTSC TV) on a good set. I realize that on many HDTVs (mainly the cheaper Chinese/Korean off-brands) the pictures are actually worse than the same pictures seen on an NTSC set, but there are some HD FPs that make very good pictures, given a decent signal, such as RCA and Panasonic. I had to stay in our town's senior center for about seven hours (mandatory evacuation) last month after a gas explosion here; they had a Sony console TV in the building for emergency information that looked like either an HDTV or a projection set (I would guess the latter), and it had a decent picture. The convergence looked a bit off, but I was sitting fairly close to the screen at the time; otherwise, however, the picture wasn't half bad.

Some nice sets; but, many of these sellers have lost their minds regarding the prices.

The Zenith roundie is a very nice set, I had either that model or very very similiar. (another VK'er has it now) Power tuning and great audio, to my tin ears.
I need to watch that 9" Panasonic. I have an identical model that I just picked up. Is anybody bidding them up? The Portacolor looks like a good one, if you are local. Shipping really kills the deal for me. That Philco-Ford that boystowndj has...if I saw it at the flea market for $35 I might force myself to buy it. But, for me, that would be as far as I could go. The one thing it has going for it is the novelty of being a late Philco-Ford, and not many really care about that.
