Views of a Motorola Astronaut

I was asked by a VK member to show pictures of a Motorola Astronaut, Although i do have an image of the set grouped with two others in a august thread "lost in space" i felt the image was lacking in quality so here are the latest photos
of this 1960 Motorola 19 inch AC / Battery powered television advertised as "First big-screen all-transistor portable you don't have to plug in"




The case color is (Black Onyx) with protective front cover attached



Revealed is 172 sq. inches of viewing area



Symbol of the jet age and a space race Motorola was there



One piece back and sides made of a strong light weight composite fiber material

I was hoping it was made of fiberglass though and came in bright colors like turquoise,coral,and red.

I do like the little rocket symbol on the front.

That's unusual to see a battery operated set with screen so large,how long could it play on a charge?

I was also hoping there was a giant 'V' molded into the lid!

With a name like astronaut I imagined it looking very futuristic.

I'd like to see a 105-lb girl walking on the beach, carrying that set with an express wagon full of car batteries behind.... I'm guessing we're talking 150 lbs for enough lead-acid battery power to watch a half our show
