7JP4 with a detachment disorder

Here is a 7JP4 crt and base ready for reatachment. Not only was the base loose but also some of the pins were broken and just floating loose from the bakalite. Using a vacuum desoldering tool helped to make the delicate task easier. Bad tubes such as 6L6s were an excellent sourse for exact replacment pins. My question what is the prefered adhesive?. In the mean time enjoy a closeup view.

In the thread I mentioned above, I advocated the use of RTV 3145 - there are other RTV formulas that will work, including RTV 162. Other folks have had luck with epoxy and rosin based formularies.

Found a tube of RTV silicon adhesive used in auto glass installations

Added extention leads,double checked that i got the leads going through the correct pins. applied the adhesive and slid the base down.

juring and after soldering the pins there were scary thoughts of bad things that could happen.Waiting with baited eyeballs a good image appeared, the job is done.

Well the job will be done when the crt is back in it's original home.

Thanks, i used a working motorola to test the crt and when i get some time i will work on the Philco.
