RCA 36" crt question
If memory serves me correctly, a few years ago RCA produced a 36" CRT set that was supposedly a high def. set.
Does anyone remember the set or know the model number? I have someone who wants to give me a 36" RCA set, with pic in pic option, and matching stand. I might be interested if this is the high def. set, otherwise not to thrilled with it - just a BIG bpc set. Thanks. |

When I did service for a big box store chain in the early 1990's, we had alot of issues with 36" RCA crt's being defective out of the box, or being defective within a month or so from the sale of the set.
I saw a couple that would light up the entire neck bright blue just as the set shut down. Not purple, like gone to air, but gassy blue. A new CRT always fixed the problem. I didnt stay with this company very long, as they always sided with the customer, and never backed up their own techs. Never looked back, either. |

IIRC, ATSC tuners were installed in their DTC series chassis - the MM36110 is one 36" set that would do 1080i. Keeping flybacks in them was a pain.
Some ATC or ITC sets had ATSC tuners, but only did 480i/NTSC. Cheers,
