YPbPr input trouble

Hi All,
Just bought a new Westinghouse 26" model SK-26H640G. I have a Toshiba DVR model D-R410KU that has YPbPr outputs. The new TV is a cheap-O with not enough inputs & I need to use the YPbPr input on the TV. Hooked-up & triple checked the connections & the TV will not recognize any signal on that input from my DVR. It maybe possible the DVR's YPbPr output is not working since I never needed to use it. Thanks in advance for anyone's 2 centz.

You might need to tell the DVR to output to component, otherwise it might default to coax or something.

Some DVRs has the option to output progressive scan instead of interlace. Check if your DVR is set to interlace scan...

surely this is a menu setting on the DVR. i've been there myself.

re: progressive scan vs interlaced;;;also true I once had a dvdp which upscaled to 720p and there were two menu settings which were capable of completely disabling the y/c svideo out and composite outs. This was if set to progressive scan.

Thanks for the replies. The progressive scan setting on my DVR will not stay on. It keeps defualting back to "off" after I set it to "on". No change with the TV component input recognizing a signal. I tried another DVD player with those component outputs and still no signal. I double checked the menu setting on both players. I think the new TV has a bum component input. What else?
