I've Never Seen a TV on Ebay Look in Better Shape than this One

It's a Zenith from the early-70's. The owner was smart enough to connect the converter box to it so potential buyers could see the picture quality and know if the seller is legitimate.

It's extremely expensive. However, judging by the exterior, the repairs look minimal.

Otherwise, great picture in my opinion. The owner offers free local pickup in Villa Park, IL just outside of Chicago. If not, the shipping is pretty expensive.

Take a look:

And just for the heck of it:

Has coaxial "VHF" jack (I've only seen coaxial "UHF" jack before):

Weird color, but still cool:

This was a favorite of mine:

Not too exciting for me, but maybe someone else:

You guys may wonder why I post all of these links to TV sets for sale. My reasoning is this: I really can't stand someone who just throws away old things, especially electronics, simply because they're old, don't work, and out-of-style. My hope is that by making you and others aware of these sales, we'll see less tube television sets in the dumpster and more in the homes of collectors and repairmen.

I appreciate you taking the time to post these and I'm guilty of doing the same thing from time to time for the same reasons you stated.

That first Zenith is a 4 tube hybrid (H-out, V-out, H-osc, and damper tubes). The rest is SS. Unfortunately, except for the last set priced at $15, I can't see any of these bringing what these people think they are worth.

The user ID of the person with the Zenith color set sounds familiar. I think he is always listing TV's on ebay that are way overpriced.

Hi, that 4tube-hybrid color is a good set but certainly not worth anywhere near what he wants for it. I use one as a daily watcher, 19CC19....19VAFP22 " the Degas " plastic simuwood cab, very heavy for a 19" all it needed was a purity/converg adj with the crosshatch and a red raster.

Its got a nice pic but its way too heavy to try to ship IMO

If I really wanted it, I could just go pick it up. But for that price, no way. I hope it does find a new owner, someone who's willing to pay that much.

The seller of the Zenith hybrid is a TV collector, and probably has a lot of time & effort in the set. That is probably one of the best picture-producing color TVs ever made.

[QUOTE=zenith2134;2982548]Hi, that 4tube-hybrid color is a good set but certainly not worth anywhere near what he wants for it. When I am situated better I would consider his selling price a very good deal. Seems to me that as the economy slowly gets better that things like these TV's will bring more money that they deserve.

Been watching mine a lot lately and it really does look better than most of my color sets...something about the crt I believe. Anyone know what it is? Maybe the cathodes are purer or something? Because they last a long time i've heard...
