I found a 77 Sears "Titanic" set.
Found this 1977 Sears Color Portable (Sanyo?) today at the Thrift Store, I paid a whopping $6.98 for it.
This is the same model used in the 1997 movie Titanic, perhaps you've heard of it? ![]() It works fine but as usual the controls are in serious need of cleaning, it was a smokers set too, brown and smelly in the vents. The Smoked Sun Shield has a big crack in it near the tuning knob, fortunately it's removable so I don't have to see it. I seem to have started a small collection of Mod 70's TV's without intending to, they just pop up now and then and I have to buy them. The only DVD I had handy was a copy of Leave it to Beaver so it's B&W. |

Have you hooked up a DTV converter box yet? I'm sure the picture will be great.

I've got its 9" color cousin, I think I paid 10 bux or somesuch for it...Mine has a GORGEOUS picture, way better than what I expected...Mine was clean, but the "Refrigerator White" has mellowed into a nice cream...
