That is the set I mentioned in a Curtis Mathis thread. It should be moved to the correct category.
Charles had better stop ridiculing that gorgeous '70's Spanish Mediterranian motif or I will get my feelings hurt again  Actually, I think this C-M cabinet design is goofy because of the unit over the TV that seems to be big without any reason other than simply to be bigger but the record storage makes sense. I hate to admit that it kinda matches my RCA's look and now I am almost taking Charles' position on this style. I bet the wood is photo copied wood like paper over particle board and inside prolly has little japanese components with second rate performance... just a guess. There was one like this in the local thrift, 1974 build date on it.
It was nearly mint but everything about it said bottom of the barrel, last gasp set. Fake plastic, particle board, cheap looking 8-Track player and radio. It disappeared so someone must have bought it.

oh,do i remember this monstrosity!my friend had one of those eyesores.bragged it up until no end.picture was nice,but no zenith.radio was loud with lots of static.cabinet was particle board,plastic and paper finish.everytime we talked,he sang the units song.it got sickening.i was so glad when this thing shorted out and he got rid of it.it lasted about 13-14 months before it went up in smoke.i mean real smoke.dont know what happened but it was beyond repair.he did keep the crt,speakers and turntable.cabinet was last seen at the curb.it sat there for most of the winter.

I cannot believe that thing is still posted! It's been on the SF bay CL for like 2 years now! It's probably going to be on there quite a while more too!

I think the only set that I've ever owned that was close to being that big was an early '60's Westinghouse B&W combo. It was a high end model with remote control. The remote would even control the reject function on the record changer. In fact, it's huge size was the main reason it got tossed.
I did have a '74 CM combo that was the little brother to this monster. The TV chassis was made by NEC, CRT (dead) was a 23" delta gun Westinghouse, record changer was a cheap Glenburn, and the stereo and speakers were some cheap crap from Taiwan. The cabinet was all particleboard and plastic.
