Free Sony in McLean VA

Saw this on CL today in case someone is interested (not my ad)...

20+ year old Sony Trinitron TV -- top image of its day -- with a 27 inch screen in a lovely wooden, furniture-quality cabinet. Very heavy -- on high quality casters. Really hate to toss the TV, which still works -- it was our main TV until about 3 years ago because of its great picture -- and now really hate to send it to the dump because of the very nice wooden cabinet containing the TV. Outside dimensions are 36" x 30", 20" deep. I had planned to remove and throw away the TV and add doors, build in shelves in the 33.5" x 22.5" opening, but I'm never going to get around to it. Great project for someone who enjoys woodworking.

Definitely a two man moving job. It did go into the back of my midsized SUV (see photos). Free but available only on weekends and evenings by arrangement. Two minutes from the Fairfax polics station at 123 and Lewinsville Rd.

I find it amazing that a 1982 set with a known CRT to fail (unless it's the replaced updated CRT) would produce a good picture if it's has alot of use all the way to 2007. If that is in fact still the 710AB22 in it still. Nice set otherwise.
