TV set funeral, my Sylvania color TV died
Got home, popped the back off the set to try to fix the vertical (about 1/3 the picture was on the tube, and 2/3 of it collapsed to a thin line). Tried caps, not it. Looks like a vertical output chip died, and my brother needed the space it occupied. And it looks like the blown chip is unobtanium... So, with a heavy heart, I had to "put it to sleep".
 Salvaged the chassis, and the comb filter board looks like I could use it elsewhere, so I saved it intact. Maybe build an Svideo maker from composite NTSC... So a portion may live on.

I know it may be too late if you've already parted it out; but, I've got a couple of old sylvania boards that might have the correct vertical IC. Just curious; but, what is the chassis number? Should be something like E32, E53, 19Cxxx, etc.
As much as we like to save these old TV's, there comes a time when we simply have to draw the line and move on to something else.

What's the part number for the chip?
 Have you asked other VK'ers? Among us, we have one heckuva stash of parts. I personally have over 300 NOS NAP packaged parts, and a few dozen "chip" kits for various Sylvania/Philco-Ford sets. Don't give up - get resourceful!And yes, I have several of the supposedly unobtanium vert/horiz countdown chips - ECG792 and 793 equivalents. I posted long ago in AK aboout creating a "resource" thread where we could list our parts stengths - several posted in favor of it, but no moderators weighed in. Cheers,

If it were in my apartment near Seattle, I'd have tried harder, asking fellow VKers like Brian and so on, but unfortunately it was at my mom's in NJ, and I'm only here for a week, and putting it aside to work on wasn't really an option.
  The picture will stay on my web page, FWIW.

type the number into the google or the ebay you will eventually find it. My 1984 Sharp 25KT35 I can still get the tube for almost $300. a few IC chips, Flyback, and tuner. And some of the chips are listed on ebay. don't give up if you really like the set. I know I would keep my Sharp in the closet for years if I thought I could eventually get a part I needed.
