Very cool console! I dig the hideaway look. Man consoles of yesteryear really had flare! That one's a peach too! Go get 'er Mark! That missing leg shouldn't be too awful hard for a woodsmith to remake. Not sure about the cost factor.

Hiding the screen when not in use was the original "wife acceptance factor" in cabinet design. Very few were done with flip-ups however, I suspect because of the impossibility of putting any items on the top. Zenith once produced a rear projo with a motorized rising screen under a flip-open top, and I wonder how many people regretted getting one of those just because they coudn't use the space on top.

Any way, it's a unique item, and I hope you get it.

That is a very cool set. Does anybody else here have one? I have only seen that in a brochure and ad.

looks like another one has "popped up". Not too far from me--and I COULD possibly go and get it for someone on a weekend--if it is needed.

I guess they are more common than I thought. This one is very nice. I bet it was a very popular set when new.
