Actually, they weren't that bad weight-wise. About 150-175 pounds. I used to have one. Found on the trash and restored. I must say that it actually had a very nice picture on it too. It's only draw back... it didn't have AFC in the horizontal oscillator circuit, so adjusting the horizontal hold was as sharp as a razor.

It is definitely a set worth owning.

What is the optical path in these sets? It looks as if the CRT/Schmidt assembly is pointed toward the front of the set... is there a front surface mirror mounted just under the front lip of the cabinet to reflect the image back to the front of the screen? Or perhaps the Schmidt projector tilts somehow when the lid is opened and projects the image on to the back of the screen, like the Emerson sets.

I actually have one of these, working. Major problem is the crt, only made for this set, virtually impossible to obtain and they are always burnt on the face. Looks like this one has been stripped so no telling what lies under.
Most of the concave mirrors need resilver as well but do make for nice sets when restored, if you have the room........

I've got one of these also. Works OK, but HV regulation is quite poor, and the picture won't stay in focus well if the brightness is turned up high enough for comfortable viewing. Needs some more attention one of these days.

I've got an extra chassis and a couple spare TP400 CRTs as well. Wouldn't mind parting with the whole works one of these days, since I've now accumulated a number of sets and don't have a good place to display the 48-2500.
