a little bit of 80's tech

I was cleaning and straightening up my junk room and couldn't resist posting a pic of some 80's technology.

4 common mid 80's sets. 2 Curtis Mathes consoles (NEC guts of course) , a Curtis Mathes portable color set (NEC) and an old Emerson. Amazing that after thousands of hours of playtime, all 4 of these sets have excellent pictures, clean, bright, sharp, and superior color saturation.

I wonder if dlp's, lcd's, oled's, plasmas will still work as good and for as long as these old dinosaurs.

You even gotta wonder ?!? Those 4 old warhorses will still be goin' strong well intil the umpteenth generation of the newfangled hi-falutin' hi-tech, hi-promo chromo domo gizmos...

I fixed an Emerson like that not too long ago for a guy. All the other shops told him to trash it because it was junk when new. I fixed it by changing a bad cap in the vertical circuit and I'm sure he'll keep me in mind if he needs more work done.
