Here's what my repair room turned into...
![]() So says the wife anyway.. Oh well, guess babies take presidence over hobbies, (which is of course the way it should be).. Moving it to the garage soon.. Lol Anyone else have this similar situation?

Yeah.. lol, it is.. But Autumn loves her stuffed animals, and she watches baby cartoons on one of the CTC-17's. The one on the left has a vertical problem upon warmup, I really want to get it fixed sometimes, it's recapped and has the best picture of both of them. What you dont see is the CTC-40 (works, with needing a new focus resistor) and a 1970 Zenith (bad yoke) in the closet.

Reminds me of my youngest sisters room circa 1990! I had loaded it up with sets: a pair of Motorola 23v table models & a pair of early 70s Admiral consoles. I don't know why she let me get away with that. None of them worked good enough for her to watch.

I'm not even gonna show my "repair room" as you all would probably join together to have me banned from VK. It really is a wreck with all of my projects and things that I've been bringing home stuffed in there. I will say that audubon5425 has seen my "rat hole" and it has only gotten worse since he last visited. I've been thinking that I want to get my CTC25 combo up and going; but, I'd have to empty everything out of the shop to do it.
By some slim chance I ever have a family; they will come first. But for now, this insane hobby is one of the main things I enjoy in life. |

The answer is simple: W.A.F. or "Woman Acceptance Factor". Things that we like, such as vintage TV's, pinball machines, arcade games, or anything that would constitute a "guy garage" if they register low in the "W.A.F" level, are destined to either have their use redefined as in the picture, or worse, relocated.

My wife is very accepting of my TV collecting hobby, as I don't really have many sets in the house. I have most of my collection in other locations from Dallas to Los Angeles, and stashed in other peoples' homes as well.
But to put it in perspective, my TV hobby is definitely the LEAST weird. My others are collecting Cold War era air raid sirens; the huge 500-pound ones that you see mounted atop poles, and I also collect Toyotas from the 80s with Diesel engines. My wife, and the entire populations of the towns of Moorpark and Somis, CA, are very nice & tolerant of my air raid siren hobby . And of course there's also my motocross track that I bulldozed in among our avocado groves, and I tear around on the track sometimes at 7:00 on a Sunday morning. Wanna live next door?Charles
