Geez. I was afraid this would happen. We tried to save it and it that's all we could do. I got to the sale too late and so did a friend of mine. It would be great, I hope no one bids.

The sequence of photos is odd. It's like "here's the set intact", "here's me taking it apart."

I don't see a need for so many photos.

Seems like rather a bizarre character.

Although the RCA 2000 doesn't interest me, I recognize it's uniqueness and am sorry to see this happen to it.

that whole sequence of pics was to rub it in on us.these people are fools of the worst kind.it is only worth something if it is intact.i hope they are stuck with this and have to reassemble to sell it.again,fools!

This sort of thing upsets me so much. I won't bid on it, maybe at least these losers won't make money off this. But I doubt they could figure out how to put it back together now even if they wanted to.

Oh boy.

The high-end cabinetry and crt, the remote circuitry, the TTL tuner scheme, all ripped apart. Yuck. I wouldn't bid on any of it even if i needed it.

Those pics are indeed intended to irritate us collectors. There is no other reason why they would take pictures of their hands pulling the stuff off. His pictures are trying to say: "here, watch me as I destroy this TV you all want so badly". I dealt with these people not too long ago trying to get the TV when it was on craigslist. At the time, it was being sold as a parted out TV, but when I inquired, it was not parted out yet but they hinted that if I shot them a huge offer, then they *might* reconsider. So I wasn't going to get caught up in their little game.
The seller simply is trying to get collectors upset with those photos and Im sure whoever they are, they are reading us talk about it on the forum here. There are many outsiders who just watch what we say but do not participate in the discussions. So a note to you G-2000 parts seller, nobody cares and nobody will bid on the stuff. So if you want, you can take a picture of you smashing the chassis with a sledge hammer, I still won't care because you are only out to cause anger among collectors. I for one certainly won't give you that satisfaction. You've already destroyed the set, so as far as I'm concerned, that TV might as well have been in a fire and was destroyed unintentionally.

Yep Sandy, they sure do and I won't give 'em the satisfaction of them making me angry either. I could not care less about that set, I did what I could do and that's it, I tried. So did Doug and Bob. They are watching this thread and the other one about the parts on CL, I would put money on it. Laughing their asses off at us. They posted on AK when they first got it so you know they are a member here and know exactly how many people would have loved to get it. If they wanted a collector to "keep it intact" they would have sold it to one of us for a fair price or at least offered to do so. They are dangling it in front of us just to tease. They can keep it, smash it, I don't care. I have lots of nice tvs and some way rarer than that one.
I also have a line on ANOTHER mint G-2000. They won't be parting that one out

Just curious: I ocassionally buy off of eBay, but have never sold any item.

How much will it cost these d***heads for this posting and the photos? Does eBay get a percentage of the selling price?

It looks like they do a fair amount of selling on ebay. Their photos aren't hosted through ebay, so there's no charge there. A basic ebay listing with no reserve is about $1. If it sells, they charge about 5% of the sale price (and Paypal gets another 3% or so).
