most sought after rectangular tube or ss color sets?
What rectangular tube / solid state color sets do you most want to add to your collection?
This is what I'd most like to find: RCA 1. 2000 2. any set in a high-end wood console cabinet with remote up through ctc-46 Zenith 1. any set in a high-end wood console cabinet, flat chassis (tube or ss), SC600 2. any set in the Avanti cabinet, (flat or vertical chassis), SC600 |

I would like to have a RCA ctc 40 in a nice duel speacker floor model. The RCA 2000 is not for me, I don't like the white plastic looking cabnet. Rca made some verry nice looking wood cabnet TV's in the late 60's and early 70's in my opinion. Probly not as reliable as a Zenith but they seem to have had some better lookin high end cabnetTV's to me.

I would also like an RCA 2000 (The one being gutted is the one I missed at the estates)
'65 Zenith rectangular (the first one) SC600 with Hi-Fi chassis and TOTL cabinet.(NOT the Emperor) '65 Motorola color set in a Drexel cabinet, preferably with remote. Any TOTL RCA CTC22-38 As far as SS goes, a flat chassis Chromacolor would be nice. Any model is good enough.

1. "C", "D", or "E" line solid state flat chassis Zenith color set. Metal cabinet version would be nice. Might can find one of these if some of the ones still in use will ever stop working.
2. Any 23V/25V Zenith tube color set. Metal cabinet a plus. 3. Early RCA XL100 with tilt out control bin. Might still stand a good chance of finding one of these. 4. Zenith steel cabinet B&W table set. 5. '66ish Motorola steel cabinet 23" color set. |

Too bad the RCA XL-100's are so heavy Bryan, I have a '75 with tilt out controls. It works but the last time I was watching it the contrast went nuts like an intermittent. I haven't had time to look at it. If there was a way to sanely get it to you, it's yours. I'll also send out the little 9 incher I owe you, I got busy and forgot, she'll be on it's way this weekend.

Currently up to 4 of these. I could never have too many Zenith b/w sets in steel cabinets. But when it comes to color sets I'm just not as interested in table models, I want a fancy wood console with a remote.

I found several steel cabinet Zenith B&W's back in the '90's; but, that was before I was interested in saving them. Probably the rarest was the late '70's solid state Zenith B&W in a steel cabinet.

There are a few that I'd like, but standing out as #1 would be a Sony KV-7010UA. That's the very first Sony color TV, and is super-rare. For personal reasons I'd like to find a Hitachi CWA-200; a 12" color solid state portable from '70, and maybe I'd like to find one of the lucite smoked clear Zenith 27" consoles with the Bose sound module built in.
And FYI to all: I have a spare Zenith 25EC58 flat chassis console with Space Command 600, in the top of the line art deco cabinet with doors... Nice condition but not mint; maybe a small scratch here or there. PM me if anyone wants it... Free to good home only, if you come help lift it. Works, and the CRT seems OK. It's located in Ventura County, CA (50 miles N of Los Angeles). Earliest dated PM gets first chance; then rights in order of time PM received. Charles

Where were you guys when I sold my RCA2000? It went for cheap, bids were few and far between!!! :P Anyway, for me currently, my most sought after set would be a Zenith 4 tube hybrid with space command. I'd really like to find one out there somewhere!

Charles, I may have a lead on the 1970 Hitachi you speak of....I spoke to a guy on CL about it and he wanted 50 dollars plus it was a drive upstate so I passed. Very nice, overbuilt little sets though!

I already have the one solid-state non-HD set I would really want. It is a 25" Sony XBR Pro, from the late 1980's.
