Big (Curtis-Mayfield?) combo in Detroit area
I think this might be one of those big Curtis-Mayfield combo sets:
Detroit-area estate sale Or is this just a stereo with a lot of record storage? Right side, fifth item down.

I think you meant Curtis Mathes, right? Curtis Mayfield was a R&B, funk, and soul artist...
![]() Not sure if it's a C/M or not. Never seen one like that... kinda unusual. Yeah, I bet the center section is storage. Good place for records and booze!

I don't recognize it as a Curtis Mathes... Maybe a cheapie department store brand, like a Bradford or a Silvertone. Curtis Mathes had a distinctive-looking radio that was used in just about all of their combos from the beginning up to when they went to the RCA clone color TV chassis in the mid 60s. I can't tell if it has a TV, but I bet not. If it had, they'd have opened it as they did the phono. Probably an optional R-R tape recorder compartment and/or record storage.

The stereo section does look a bit cheesy, doesn't it?! Not a bad looking cabinet for the 70's. We've ceratinly seen worse!
