Texas recycles day 2009
Today was a recycling day for TV's and computers.
I was able to be at the entrance to the recycling center to spot tube-type TV's. We did get about 6 tube type sets...unfortunately we filled up one pickup truck load and when we went back for the second load two Zenith chromacolor tube type sets I had got, must have accidentally got put into the trailers to be sent off for recycling. They had assured us these sets wouldn't get messed with but probably the communication didn't reach everyone. We did not get back to the recycling center till after everyone had left so probably won't be able to retreive them. Next time we'll take both the dodge van and pickup and get everything in one trip. There was probably about 200-300 people dropping off TV's and almost all of them were 90's or later...did not see any flat panels though. The recycling center assured all of the sets would be recycled in the U.S. This is the 7th year I think I have done this and just as in the past, the number of tube type sets has decreased...I am grateful as always to them for letting me do this. The Sylvania looks like it was worth the effort! I let a couple that age slip through my fingers years ago, and still regret it.
The Magnavox sure looks all used up...but maybe some good parts?
