Given 2 1980's Quasar portables
Cute little B/W portables from the 1980's. Model number XP1477U, one blue one and one white one!
They work for the most part but both have the same problem; picture is pulled away from bottom of screen just a little and vertical linearity is off on the bottom 1/4 of the screen. Now, these sets don't seem to have a vertical linearity adjustment anywhere! All in all, these sets would be much better if they had that adjustment. They have everything else, even focus. I wonder if there's a way to fix these? |

A replacement of the RC circuitry in the vertical drive section is a better fix than a turn of the linearity pot anyhow, IMHO. These are nice sets, usually make a great picture when the crt's are strong. I owned a white one and a pink one. BTW, all sets of this era have a focus control from what I've seen!

I could replace said circuitry, I would just need a basic walkthrough or just which parts should be changed. The picture tubes in both are in good condition!
