Bruno
I saw Bruno Saturday night hoping to be entertained as much as I was with Borat. Unfortunately, it was nowhere near as good. Cohen's objective seemed to be to push the line of comedy towards porn and I think he crossed the line more than a few times. Granted, there was lots of shock-value laughs, but decidely less true humor than I hoped for. This movie is definitely not for the faint of heart. Most of the film made the nude wrestling scene in Borat seem downright tame in comparison.

I still have not seen all of Borat, I keep turning it off because it was so bad(IMO). I sat through all of Bruno, but I don't think that I will ever again....

I've never been able to take more than a few minutes of SBC. His movies are the filmed equivalent of a migraine headache. Yes, I tried to watch "Borat." I lasted about thirty minutes before I could take it no longer. His jokes are obvious and he repeats them ad nauseum. I won't waste my money on "Bruno.

No offense meant to those who enjoy it, but after watching the trailers for Borat, I knew I'd never make it through a full length movie of that stuff.

i thoroughly enjoyed "Borat" myself, as did my 50-ish mother (which very much surprised me). for some reason i had thought "Bruno" was going to be more of a departure from "Borat," but based on you guys are saying here it sounds like it's just more of the same, which can admittedly get old even for a fan, especially if it's trying too hard. i'll probably wait for the RedBox release.

Man, I laughed out loud at some of the bits on the trailer.
"Madonna has one, Brangelina has one........." I've never been into shock comedy but SBC is a talent.

He needs to thank Andy Kaufmann for his pioneering work in this type of comedy.

I was really disappointed in this movie.
I thought Borat had a great charm/innocence to him where this was just totally vulgar... |

Ali G's interview with Kobe Bryant is classic. "Respet"

He did an Ali G movie. Straight to DVD in the US IIRC.

Yep, he did one. "Ali G in da house". It was terrible, and didn't play to the strengths of what made Ali G funny. But..a friend of mine was in it. She played "Hoochie #1". Seriously.

Okay, then he needs to do a GOOD Ali G movie. I did not know about "Ali G In Da House". I just remember those hysterical interviews he did on HBO.

I saw Bruno last night. Not quite as funny as I was expecting. There's a fair amount of graphic content, including and extended (ha ha) close-up of SBC's penis doing various acrobatic moves. Not for the faint of heart.
Still it was pretty funny (if gross and otherwise uncomfortable), with several absolutely inspired moments. Some of the light shed on the darker side of celebrity culture is also welcome, if chilling. One thumb up. (ha ha)
