Another SA find today

SA had a half price sale today and I picked up a little 1967-8 12" Zenith B&W portable for $2.50. Set actually works quite well and has a very healthy CRT. It's all tubes and it doesn't seem possible it's over 41 years old! When I was in the Army in 1972, a friend of mine here at home had one identical to this one with a vert problem. I told him I would fix it if I could use it for a few months. Every time I see a 10DR7 tube, I think of that set!

Yup, I got a letter from him wanting his set back! Boy, it seemed like such a big deal back then!
