Was at GW last week and they had the same set, only in a black case. Almost bought it as it is pre-Thompson era. IIRC the sticker read $5.00

i sold some of those new. ctc115 chassis i believe they did have a great picture on them. steve

That portable couldn't have been from 1965, as it has, for openers, the new (circa 1968) RCA logo on the front panel, as opposed to the script RCA Victor logotype used on the company's earlier sets. RCA did have a line of 17" portables in '65, but they were heavy metal-cased sets with a power transformer and a 5U4 rectifier tube; VHF only as well. Another giveaway: the UHF tuner in the set described here only goes to channel 69.
