I agree, those uprights have a ooky spooky feeling about them....sorta Victorian in a way. Just not my cup of phlegm no how.

Pretty rare that the original owner is selling it (at this late date). Even though he still has all the paperwork to go along with it I feel he's unrealistic in his starting price and would be amazed if he got a single bid.

that's what I thought. His opening bid is too high. He'll be lucky NOT to have to pay to have that thing hauled away. I don't understand why some people think just because they paid a large price for something "back in the day" that they would be worth anything years later. Stupid........

500 bucks-the guy's nutz!! 50's more like it-might go a hunnert if all the other goodies worked REAL well & it isn't skint up too bad. He'd also have to help load it in the mighty Valdez-& yes, those thaings ARE a bit fugly & sinister looking. He still ran it for what-15,16 years-CRT might be iffy. Overall, I think I'll pass. -Sandy G.

Looks like the guy was a cheapskate and used the tv until it was completely worn and now wants a sky high price!
I'll bet the pc boards are charcoal, The tube is at zero emission all 'lytics dry and the cabinet all scratched up!
I wanted to get one of those sets but got sniped at the last minute by someone else. Glad I was though, As Doug gave me the same chassis, remote and year but in the horizontal style cabinet and it was free and a mint original!

Hey guys My name is Michael and i got this for 100 . Now some may say im crazy,but after a little refinishining and new fabric on the "curtains" This thing looks brand new and guess what it still performs as new. By the way these armoires were made right here in Greeneville Tennessee and several of my family worked on these.Now thats the reason people buy these things.oh yea all the remote control functions still work flawlessly....Michael.......... I am watching it as I am writing this

cool! How was the color on it? I think I remember the seller saying something about the color going bad. Did you have to do any repairs to the electronics?

on this particular one the color is good espically for the technology in 1969.It really is an awesome piece.Now the other one i have is solid state and it needs some work.This one is a tube tv and solid state Astro Sonic stereo. I am going to get a guy out and have them both gone over. I dont want to have to take these to the shop.LOL
All the electronics needed was a little contac cleaner on the controls and now that is perfect.The worse thing was the battery for the remote was almost 14 bucks LOL.

I've delivered a lot of those things when they were new, main thing I remember they're heavyyyyyyy. I worked for a Magnavox dealer and serviced those sets, they're hard to service because of the cabinet design. From the pictures it looks like you've got a 25 inch set instead of a 23 if that's the case it should have a T951 or T962 Tv chassis and would be a 71 or 72 model. If it's a 23 inch set with auto color it will be a T940, and if it doesn't have auto color it's most likely a T933 chassis. These were all workhorse chassis and capable of great pictures, the signal seeking ultra sonic remotes had a few quirks. I should have all the manuals for your set.
