Hi all, I saw this on Nashville Craigslist. It's big, heavy and free. Anybody want this more than I might?

I wonder what's in it? Probably a CTC38.

Might be a CTC-40. A few of those, while solid state, kept the New Vista Color label. By the control bezel, it's either a 38, 39 or 40.

Looks like a 38 to me. If it were a roundie I would have been all over it. If it were here in Jackson I would have got it. Just don't have time to drive to Nashville right now. Certainly do not want it to go to the dumpster though. It looks like a nice set, the tv may need a flyback though. I seem to remember replacing lots of them.

If there were no hits on his ad, it may have been put out for bulk trash collection. Non-TV folk tend to want to get rid of the heavy old things ASAP, whether it's sold or junked. Hey, some people collect old refrigerators, but I don't...So, I'd end up dumping the RCA new vista console equivalent of the fridge world if no one responded to my attempt at saving it!

I was reading some threads the other day on the washing machine collectors forum. (no, I don't collect-I've been trying to sell some NOS parts there-but it is fun to browse) One very interesting story revolved around a very rare machine that was advertised on CL, the way the seller jerked the guy around, and the way he eventually ended up finding it on the curb for bulk pickup.
