Later model Porta-Color GE on CL in SoCal
I saw this GE Porta-Color on Craigslist in Santa Monica, CA:
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst...102595222.html Looks like the very last tube set, or maybe the early solid-state chassis using the old cabinet? Has click-stop UHF tuner. I know these have been talked about on the forum... Charles

I had a November, 1976 one just like that and it had tubes. If this one really is a '78, I'd grab it in a heartbeat if I were closer. I have kicked myself many times for getting rid of the later model Porta-Colors that I had as a kid. Now, they seem to be all gone around here!

It probably needs the tube sockets resoldered ( no vert in the pic)
They are cool little sets. I had a very early one, that I'm still pissed I sold! Now that I want one I can't find em! I had one of the last ones from 78 with the click tuner. It caught fire while I was watching it! I never did find out why it burst into flames. Scared the crap outa me!
