Roundie black and white TV sets in Georgia
Hi, I have a friend who is in the USA, in the state of Georgia, to be more precise. He is willing to get a vintage TV set for me. I want a roundie B/W made by Zenith or RCA Victor in 1950/51.
Can anyone help me on this? Thanks in advance. |

I need a 1950 or 51 model - and the roundie face of the CRT must be clearly perceptible.

What we really need is a roundie B/W made in 1950 or 51, made by RCA or Zenith, and must be table model. It's for display purposes only, so there's no necessity of a working or close to working set.

I have an RCA 8T-243 that is "old and in the way." I've never been certain of the year. I think 1949....

Hmm, that model is 48/49. I need a 1950 model - can be RCA or Zenith - that I can be SURE was sold here ( in Brazil ) when television began here on September,18, 1950.
Also, it must be a roundie and a roundie on which the "roundiness" of the CRT was not disguised by a rectangular mask. |

If the screen has to be round and not masked off then Zenith is probably your best bet.

A Zenith porthole or an RCA with the "double D" format mask are just perfect for me. What does not suit my purposes are those sets on which the roundiness of the CRT is completely hidden, and the screen have the looks of a mid 50's set.

How about a porthole ratheon? Alittle more money to invest in but worth it.

Raytheon was not sold here. I need a model that was in the Brazilian market in 1950.
