Toshiba 32" oddness

Hi all,
Our older Toshiba TV (2001) has green lines across it on power up.
After a spell ( about 5 minutes) the set tends to click into protection.
This problem is intermittent as sometimes it works well.
Any ideas?
Thanks to you all and sorry to bug you.

My limited experience with Toshiba sets of that general vintage is that they are likely to have bad solder joints. Typical answers: solder joints of a cap going bad. I'm not sure where to start, probably around the video circuit?
