Sony Watchman FD-2A conversion

Hello,
Looking for schematic for a Sony Watchman model FD-2A. I'm trying to lower the UHF tuning range to use it on amateur radio fast scan TV. Any ideas or schematics regarding it's conversion and use for ATV would be great.

Thank you,

Rich

Rich-

Have you tried any tests on it yet? Such as, open it up and check the voltages on various tuner pins as you tune it through the band, change it from VHF to UHF, etc. Also, if it has a discrete tuner with a Sony part number (in the #-###-###-## format), look up that number on Google and see if you find anything else about it. Ideally, other sets used the same tuner and had a cable-ready mode, accessed by changing voltages on different tuner pins, but this may be unlikely on a tuner in these tiny sets. I also have an old Watchman here, but I hadn't though about modifying it for the 420-450 band. If I get a chance, I will let you know what I find out.

Hi Rich,

If this can be of any use to you, i have the schematic of WatchMan FD-240BE.

This is an Euro model. From a quick look, the tuning voltage is stabilized + 32VDC feeding Varicap diodes.

If interested, drop me a line with your Mail address via PM. The file is too big (220 Kb) for forum posting.

Best Regards

PS: for future maintenance purposes, i'm interested in any US small-screen (2"-3") WatchMan service data as i have a mixed batch of these animals.
