Magnavox 32inch tv info needed.

I need service information on the Magnavox tv that followed me home last week. It is a 32B504-00A chassis. When plugged in set has low hum from speakers. When you press power the green light comes on, and there is a higher frequency buzz or whine. Can't really tell if it is from the speakers, or chassis yet. Of course no picture or sound. I didn't find it in the sam's index, and my factory lit stops at the B1 chassis.

Thanks,
Bill R

I need the part number for the flyback. The tag has faded and I can/t read it.
Thanks,
Bill R

Thumbs down

From what I've seen, when the flyback goes on these sets the automatic brightness line receives quite a bit of overvoltage. This kills about 30+ other parts, including the video/chroma IC and a large # of other parts. I stopped repairing these a bit ago as the new flyback fails as fast or faster than the old one and kills all the other parts again. Very frustrating! And customers get very angry too!

Most Philips/Magnavox sets that I've seen that were made after around '97-'98 are PURE JUNK!!!! However, I've fixed plenty of those '90's sets with the 100 uf cap behind the flyback that would fail. In my area, there are still plenty of those sets still in service.
