URGENT- Get Your CRT Rebuilt Soon!
Scotty at Hawkeye is knowlegable, friendly and great on helping us rebuild old CRTs, there's no question about that. In a recent phone call, he's stated that business is slow and not sure how long will stay open. I urge all AKers considering a CRT rebuild to do it soon.
I missed the chance to use a local CRT rebuild shop 8 years ago which was of couse the last in my area to survive. Everyone should work on getting their rebuild projects planned before this business is gone forever.

i knew it was only a matter of time. I wish I had a spare 21FJP22 to get rebuilt. I hope this is something that will be maintained on a limited basis for the collector market.

Even if Scotty does retire, there should at least be an opportunity to purchase the equipment and perhaps learn the trade. It would be a shame for this skill to disappear entirely.

A serious offer for his experience, talent and knowledge--I'm sure he would consider. If a resouce in the future for rebuilding CRT appears for all collectors , than such an offer has been done.
