Milk - The Film
I saw this movie last night with our elder son (the movie-maker), and it was really a great film. An excellent depiction of the time in San Francisco (part of which some of my dear old friends lived-through). Sean Penn, Emile Hirsch and Josh Brolin (as well as the entire supporting cast) did a stunning job with this. Director Gus Van Sant did an excellent job of weaving historical and contemporary footage together. To think that Josh Brolin played his role in this film and then an entirely different role in another film "W" is a tribute to his versatility as an actor.
Sean Penn shouldn't have won the Oscar for Mystic River (but I know that he did), but he has become Harvey Milk in this role. I think that he really did great work in this film. Recommended. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1013753/
