The ERO has ceased production of EHT for TV set

did you know that the ERO has ceased production of EHT for TV in B & W and color? Now to repair the tv set'70s -'80 will be a problem for us collectors.

With the declining demand for CRT based TV's comes the discontinuation of replacement flybacks and CRT's. That could be a serious problem for collectors of vintage TV's.

certainly for both remedial and for us collectors becomes increasingly difficult. integrated circuits, PTC, EAT, Split diode transformers, CRT are some of the components that do not trvání more. the only way is to collect what is thrown away in rubbish

Being across the Atlantic, I am curious about this. Has the ERO actually been the provider of EHT components for manufacturers?

Or has the ERO issued a directive to CEPT member countries to ban the production of EHT components in their countries?

I'm surpised that the ERO would be involved, since the components used in displays have little (if anything) to do with frequency coordination.

Last year, an old electronic parts store gave me about 300 new-in-box flybacks for 60s and 70s B/W tube sets! for FREE!

The E.R.O. was agerman factory of electronic components such as polyester capacitors, and electrolytic and E.A.T., for Grundig Telefunken etc etc. since the 70s. Now, by the news that I received, it seems that it is bankrupt or has ceased production, also the HR Diemen ceased production of EHT line and transformer. Only remained Eldor who produce this component in europe-

But lets not forget that there are two options..
1. FBT's can be produced with some research and engineering through 3rd party companies possibly, but supply and demand im afraid will not be sufficent for covering tooling up costs.

2. China is always willing to make a buck.. But there again inlies the same issue of supply and demand.

yes I agreement, but what it costs to order the spare part for the TV? I do repairs on tv set for customers. I can not ask for repair costs far exceed the value of TV SET. No talk of Chinese components. for charity!

I did an internet search on ERO and got ero.dk, the European Radiocommunications Office, not the same thing at all.

I have heard of components marked with SGS but made in China, like the transistor BUH 1015H. Their reliability is tending to 0. After a few hours of work they burn.

modern chinese tubes also suck! if you like fireworks, just buy a new chinese 6DQ6 and put in a 60s set with a 110 degree CRT!

This is starting to get a tad bit rediculus actually. china is flooding are market with junk. making japan look bad. I mean take the latest CRT HDTV projection units. STKs after STKs failing. why? chinese?

motherboards: capacitors blowing up left and right. Why? chinese junk.

I've had brand new semiconductors and flybacks either not work at all or would blow up after a few minutes of use. I believe most, if not all, were made in China! And, when something like that happens with a customer's TV, the maker of the dud part will not get the blame; the repairman will!
