My Small Collection

Hey gang,
Long time reader, first time poster. I thought I'd attach some pics from my small collection. Here are 3 of my favorite sets.

Hi Andy and welcome! Thanks for sharing, that CT-100 is in beautiful condition as are all of your sets. Very nice convergence on the 100 too! Did you restore them yourself?

Thanks for the kind words Zenithfan1. I restored all of the cabinets myself. I've had help with the electronics. Steve McVoy restored the ct-100. I just needed to replace some open peaking coils, resistors and the picture tube. The convergence was fairly easy to achieve. I got the rca 621 and Predicta running and then had them recaped by Tom Romano of Toms Antique Radio & Tv. He does great work.

You have 3 of the TVs that most of us would happily give our eyeteeth for...'Specially the CT-100 & the 621TS...

There's a database someone is maintaining of CT100 serial numbers of surviving sets. Someone here should be able to chime in with the particulars of the URL of that web site.

The first set is a Philco Predicta pedestal "barber pole" from 1958. The second
is an RCA ct-100 from 1954, this was their first color tv. The last is an RCA 621TS from 1946, this and the 630 were RCA's first tvs offered to the public after the war.

I have news for you: You say "small collection", but having a working CT-100 and a 621 is an auto-qualify as "Big Guns" collector! Very nice!!!!

Excellent choices, and it's so nice to see them in working condition. I like to restore all of my TVs, even though some of them backslide occasionally

Nice sets, Andy! As others said, your "small collection" is like saying "I have just a few cars... a Rolls Royce, a Ferrari, and a Corvette".

Thanks guys for all the kind words. It's great to have found a site with members who share my love for these old relics. My wife and kids eyes kind of glass over when I start talking vintage tv....
