The Lone Ranger Remake

Heard their doing a remake I personally thought the last one was a flop.Anyway I understand the lead has not been cast,their trying to get George Clooney??However Tonto will be played by Johnny Depp!! Is their anyone he couldn't play??
I look forward to this as I grew up watching and loving every western made by Republic...Singing Sandy (John Wayne) Tex Ritter,Red Ryder with Little Beaver (Bobby Blake) Sunset Carson etc etc. etc.
Any old timers care to add their fav's.....

I listen to the Lone Ranger old time radio shows and the television shows on the web. As a kid growing up when Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels was Tonto, I got soured when there was all the hooplah over the franchise and the mask and for one feel that there needs to be more time before they try to re-introduce the franchise. Johnny Depp as Tonto, sounds like something from the '20s and later when Hollywood made no effort to match a part to a person of that race.

Seems to show how low the quality of Hollywood has sunk.
