I'll admit it, I love this genre. Jack Lord got my wheels turning in the Rocky Horror remake thread so who else likes these films and which ones? I'd like to find a few I've missed. (Omit the zombie films though as those are deserving of their own thread anyway.) Have at it -
Mad Max Omega Man Cherry 2000 Le Dernier Combat A Boy and His Dog The Postman (let the rotten vegetable throwing commence) The Ultimate Warrior (although it has been years since I saw it) |

On the Beach - the original, although the new one is OK too.
Testament The Quiet Earth Tank Girl - just for the sheer stupidity of it... Damnation Alley - same reason This may be slightly out of genre: Silent Running Red Dawn |

Damn the Punctuation Nanny..My last post was all in capitals & the One Who Knows Better wouldn't let it stand as such...Another one would be the "Planet of the Apes" series.

The Last Man on Earth (first version of I Am Legend before The Omega Man)
Battlestar Galactica (not a movie but certainly post Apocalyptic) I don't know if they have made a film of it, but you guys should read "Ape & Essence" by Aldous Huxley. Post Apocalyptic Los Angeles, demon worshipers and orgies in the ruins of the LA Memorial Coliseum.

Great stuff here, quite a few I hadn't considered.
Shame on me for missing Red Dawn. "Wolverines" is my sig on another board too! "Silent Running" I would have put into Sci-Fi but it makes complete sense in this regard. It is a really overlooked and underpraised film. |

And for a humorous look at this setting:
"A Boy And His Dog", starring a young Don Johnson.

I really really liked 'I Am Legend'.

Wasn't Cherry 2000 about a guy who tries to get his hooker/robot back?
Been a Loooooong time since I saw that one! I'd prolly say Mad Max for me. Matt
