Free converter boxes! Sort of.
The public is now officially being scammed on converter boxes. Some outfit called Universal Techtronics is offering "free miracle converter boxes". Ohbytheway, you have to buy our 5 year warranty and pay shipping. But you don't have to endure the clumsy wait for your $40 card.
Ads are appearing in local papers. My local ABC just did a nice story on this. The BBB says this is fraud. I'm not sure which version of the converters they are using. http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/0...ute/#more-1265 This the same outfit that has sold "air conditioners" that were a fan blowing over two freezer cold packs. And don't forget their free space heater! You just had to buy the Amish built wood cabinet. $400. Warn the neighbors. Dave A
