Philco Transitone

Looks rare to me. Very nice.
I guess it's solid state?

philco used the transitone name on a few products, but I don't think that all of them (or any) were transistorized. I could be wrong.

Philco bought out the Transitone Automobile Radio Company in the 30s and used the Transitone name on a few low cost products until the late fifties.

The TV on ebay is a 57 1/2 model, having come out at mid season. The '58 version had a different handle/antenna arrangement and some minor circuit changes. That particular cabinet is more rare than the earlier 14 inch portables.

It is all tubes except for diodes in sync and LV rectifier.
