Orion TVD2710 27" SDTV - need a svc. manual
I was just given this Orion 27" SDTV model TVD2710 from September 2006 by the local TV shop. Does anyone know where I can get a service manual for this POS at a reasonable price? It is dead and I've got about 82 volts on the collector of the HOT. There are a couple of stand up resistors that I read 4.1 volts on. I assume this is the stand-by voltage. Nothing changes when I press the power button. I really don't know where else to go without a service manual. The only reason I'm fooling with this junk heap is because it has a built in digital tuner. Any help would be appreciated.

![]() http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/ele/723297827.html The Orion TVD2710 was originally only available during Black Friday sales after Thanksgiving for $179. I actually created two threads in hot-deal forums encouraging buyers to choose Orion over Toshiba. Luckily, it worked, and they were completely sold-out nationwide, and the closest one still available was 75 miles away from me. http://archive.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=368652 http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/deal...71229/?start=0 It may be a POS to you, but it's actually worth putting in his or her collection because this is the last Orion-branded TV under the Orion maker ever made. I also have the last Orion-branded 4-head Hi-Fi VCR from 2002, which is VR5006. I guess I got the perfect combo here. I will never forget the time in 2006 when more than 70% of Toshiba products were made by Orion, which was their peak year. Today, now only 30% of Toshiba products are made by Orion since Orion now no longer makes CRT TVs and DVD/VCR combos. Orion now is producing LCD TVs sized 26" and under in full capacity for Sharp and Toshiba. I really hate to see the Orion-made Sharp 26" LCD TV at Costco in beautiful packaging and display fooling many buyers that it's made by Sharp at quality membership price. |
