Another B/W Set from New Zealand
Heres another NZ desgined and manufactured b&w set.
Its a Pye Model T25Y from the late 1960's, it is actually a hybird set, mostly valves but has transistors in the IF/Audio stages. This is my current old TV project in running restoration, these chassis's had poor quality resistors that drifted like hell and the the caps weren't much better, especially the prolyprop caps in the frame/sync/horz sync stages etc.. This one goes extremley well and it has still has a good picture tube. Glen PS... I picked the right channel when taking this photo didn't I....Spongebob&SquarePants....sheesh! lol

I've had two sets from the UK shipped to me, a Perdio Portorama, and a Phillips, and both got destroyed
. Always wanted a TV from abroad.Hm, with the heat in the area that you live in, and the fact that most people had disposed of the old sets, I wonder if you'll ever run across four and twenty blackbirds baked in a Pye ![]() Sorry, just couldn't resist!

Hi kamakiri, hows it??
![]() Well,to be honest where I live it don't get all that hot really, infact we've had the most crappiest summer here for years, and right now its autum and its freezing! And I've never seen four and twenty blackbirds baked in a Pye either!lol...although I have come across the skeletal remains of a mouse in an Pye b/w it was lying across the Lopt and HV Rectifer valve anode top cap and sort of got caught in between somehow and was zapped/arced to death I assume?! God knows what was happening on the screen at the time and why the owners didn't turn the dam thing off or something and how the set still operated like that for years afterwards!! Made a mess though..rotting carcass and all.. yuk..turned my stomach when I discovered it. Gross! ![]() So things can get baked in a Pye.......... ![]() Anybody care for a slice of pie now??.....
