Talking Swingtown

Enjoyable premier last night. Reminded me of my swinging days ... swinging on a tire, that is, since I was only 7 in 1976.

Anyway, it's a groovy show AND there's vintage gear in some of the scenes. Last night, right before the .... ummm ... swinging started, a main character put on some vinyl too!!! I forget the song he played, but it was cool nonetheless.

OK , can anyone identify the TT? I think it's a Linn , but I could (probably am) be wrong. The receiver stumps me.

Based on what I saw in the overnights, I wouldn't look for it to be a long running series.

Unlikely..I believe they have made 13 episodes.. The first one was boring as hell.

Well, I checked nationally- it actually beat the new NBC show it was up against. Basketball threw all the numbers off. So it might be better off than I think.

It wasn't a bad little nighttime soap. There were only a couple of anachronisms. The show took place over July 4th weekend, 1976, but they played a song from RUMOURS. I'm fairly certain I had given up on bell bottoms at least two years earlier. And I don't think anyone would have described anything or anyone as having "gone missing" until the '90s.

I tried the NBC offering, FEAR ITSELF, but the plotting was too obvious. They lost me before the second commercial.

I look good books AND mindless TV, especially when my brain is tired after work.
