The Invaders are here!

Or is that the The Invaders is here? Anyway, I received The Invaders first season on DVD. I watched the first three episodes last night. What a trip. Hearing that stentorian voice at the beginning of each episode saying "A Quinn-Martin production" really brough back memories. And of course the same voice stating that "Tonight's episode is The Experiment" while the words "The Experiment" appeared on the screen reminded me of Police Squad, where the voice would say something like "Tonight's episode, A Deadly Trap" and the words on the screen would be something completely different.

Invaders was one of those shows I missed growing up. It was either on after my bedtime or the content was not approved by "she who controlled the TV", my mother. Likely the latter. When it hit syndication and I was old enough to watch it, it was not shown in the town I lived in. I would only get to see it when we would travel down to see relatives in LA. I'd bet I've only seen 4 episodes total in all these years. I want to see more!

You wonder what some of these guys were like in real life....Alfred Ryder, who played one of "The Invaders" big cheeses, he ALWAYS played a heavy...Kinda creepy, always sinister....I liked Quinn Martin's stuff 'cause he generally used Fords, & when they showed a rich dude, he was always drivin' a big suicide-door Lincoln...

David Vincent, the main character, drove a Galaxie in the first 2 episodes (hmmm, I wonder if that has any hidden meaning..."Invaders from another galaxy..."). His partner drove a Lincoln. Must have been the senior partner.
