ROTFL

Mine has a new CRT, a rebuilt tuner and a nicer cabinet so it must be worth $2500

I especially like the part where the title says it works but the description says it doesn't. And she(?) keeps repeating "appreciate"..........I'd appreciate it if she took the time to edit and rewrite her auction in an effective manner.

"I have owned this unit for about 6 years and never have appreciated it. I have hung on to it cause my husband thinks its cool.He wants to hook it up to cable. It needs a more caring and appreciative home, someone who knows how to treat it and i would appreciate the cash."

All this can be yours for an opening bid of only $1500! Sheesh.

I sent a nice e-mail to the seller informing her of the situation. She replied with a thanks and made it clear that she was new to eBay. The funny part of all of this is that she has a neighbor who offered her $900 for this!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course I told her to take the money and run as that was almost 5 times what this is probably worth. Maybe all old TV collectors need to move next door to her so we could get that kind of money!

Curtis mathis problem

If you read the opening line in her auction you would see that it is for " True Collectors" not for a bunch of yahoos like us, that must be why we can't appreciate paying 5 times it's true value.

Just gotta say I paid $15 for the one I have, maybe have $100 into it after buying a new picture tube and having the tuner rebuilt.

Truth is I don't really even want it but it was too nice to pass up and it makes a nice display counter for my other sets. (it's a front loader, not a top loader like the one on eBay)

Look at the dust on it in this picture
