I actually liked quite a bit better than The Departed also with Mark Wahlberg..

Have you seen "Gone Baby Gone"?
If so, how does it compare? I've seen neither so far, but... both "We Own The Night" and "Gone Baby Gone" are on my short list on Netflix.

It was alright until the last 1/3 for me when it became predictable.
Not a huge fan of the The Departed either. If you really want a taste for a certain part of "Boston", Mystic River is the ticket.

I saw Mystic and enjoyed it as well..
last nite I saw Gone Baby Gone...Also very very enjoyable!!
