Twins, (almost )
The cabinet on this 49 Hoffman
is nearly identical to the one on my 53 Philco, even the hardware looks the same! Looks like the Hoffman might be a tad wider...and a whole lot more beat up...and a whole lot more spensive.

I've always liked your Philco. It really does look nice... and makes a great picture!

I have seen tags on some cabinet-type sets stating the name of the cabinetmaker...that is, that the cabinet was not made in the electronics makers' factory but by a custom cabinetry company. These two sets cabinets were probably made by the same outside company.

Probably, I don't see a makers mark on the Philco, that probably rules out Drexel
![]() Hoffmans were made in California and Philcos in Philcodelphia so maybe the cabinet maker was somewhere in between? This Hoffman can't be more than 20 miles away from me, if he was asking 10% of the opening bid I might be tempted. Quote:

I have a Hoffman that looks similar but minus the large cabinet...just the business part of the TV, has a pair of front doors and some rather embarrassingly cheap looking faux hardware.
