i saw that set yesterday, and thought it was kinda flashy lookin with all that gold trim... almost bling-bling like when the cameral flash hits it!

Looks like some of the knobs come off a ctc-9 or 10?

The knobs are likely original...RCA used similar styles of knobs on many of their color and black and white sets of a given time period.

RCA b&w TV - remote? Don't think so.

I don't think that's a remote set. While remote control TVs were around in the '50s, most such sets of that era were large-screen color sets (roundies in those days); moreover, the remote control, if available at all, was usually offered as an optional accessory at additional cost. Since Zenith pioneered remote control with the introduction of its Space Command system in the late '50s, most remote b&w sets were of that make until the '60s when remote control became more widespread. I don't really know offhand when remotes appeared in RCA sets.

Did you notice the nice hum bar in the picture also? Gives the set a real funky appearance!
Just thought it might be a remote set as it has what looks like a mic on the front panel.
Those pictures they took were too far away and show little detail.
