Wink Before the Devil knows you're dead - Marisa Tomei

Rented "Before the Devil knows you're dead" last night.

The opening scene is a unpleasant way to start a movie, but overall the movie was interesting. Some people might have problems following it since it is told partially by jumping around chronologically, but they do tell you what time period they are jumping to.

It's basically a story about a bad decision leading to some more bad decisions and the results of such decisions. Kind of a morality tale.

Marisa Tomei. For those fans of hers (I always thought she looked terrific in "My cousin Vinny"), you probably will enjoy "seeing" her in this movie. Let's just say you'll get a "good look" at her. She's 43 now, and I thought she still looks pretty good.

Also starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ethan Hawke and Albert Finney.

Thought I'd see this cause Sidney Lumet directed and I've liked a lot of his films but your information caused me to hurry up and see it! This movie is well written with interesting plot development and twists, interesting characters and, of course, Miss Tomei's very interesting points. Lumet's touches abound. Well crafted, good movie, but dark and deadly.

What is this direct to dvd or what? I remember a buzz about the movie on the internet but never saw any trailers for it.

Thanks for reminding me.

It was in limited release. It only came out on DVD a short while ago. Sidney Lumet has a ton of highly acclaimed movies to his credit, some having won Oscars. Serpico is an example, 12 Angry Men another.
