Classic TV set commercials on youtube

Hello all, just wanted to point out, that there quite a few of vintage commercials for TV's on youTube, especially for Zenith and RCA. Some of them are provided by fellow AK Horizontal hold forum members like Chad, Spatsbear1, Casettemaster and others. Plus drh4683 has nice videos of his collection of Televisions. Here is a link to youtube just on Zenith TV commercials http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...s&search_type=

There's a OTA DTV channel that's cropped up in my area that shows programs from the 1950's all the way up to "Knight rider". They also show retro commercials too.

Probably you're receiving RTN, the Retro Television Network which is sort of like TV-Land without the bling. I enjoy RTN a lot, we have it here in Pittsburgh on our NBC affiliate, WPXI, Channel 11, DTV on channel 48. It is in standard def though but it is one of my favorite channels. Channel 6, WJAC, in Johnstown, will carry it too.

RTN that's exactly what it is! The channel used to be a weather 24/7 channel.

It would be nice if one of our local stations would carry RTN; but, I'm not holding my breath. There are currently no sub-channels on our NBC or CBS station; so, that would be a good one to offer.

I just checked their current program line-up and there are some interesting shows. Much better than TV Land's current offerings.

There is some info circulating around stating that RTN is having financial troubles and is very near to filing for bankruptcy. Let's hope that's not the case!

For those of us in the area, what is the channel?

I love RTN, better than TV Land in many ways, TV Land never really varies their lineup but I heard RTN does. We like it so much that I move my DTV box and 50 cent bow-tie UHF antenna to the 1982 Zenith and we watch "Knightrider" every Sunday night at 8. In 1983, at 8 PM, Sundays, I sat on the couch as a 16 year old to watch "Knightrider" on a 1982 Zenith. Today, at 41, I sit on the couch at 8PM, Sundays, to watch "Knightrider" on the same 1982 Zenith, there has to be some irony here.

I hope RTN doesn't go bankrupt or at least continue as Chapter 11 and stay on the air. This is my opinion, but I think on Saturday and Sundays from 8 AM to 1 PM, I'd run the old cartoons we used to watch from the 1960's to the 1980's.
