The Japanesee tv's made for the Japenesee market where N.T.S.C. or multisistem?

Anyone haves any ideea, the tv sets Made in Japan for the Japanesee market could only be use in the N.T.S.C. sytesm or some where multisystem? (I'm especially asking about tv's that could also have P.A.L. B/G, D/K tuners). Talking about sets manufacutred after 1975-1980.

To the best of my knowledge, unless the tv is made for multiformat, it would only work for NTSC. I had at one time a Japanese multi format VCR i think it was a Sanyo. that would convert one format to another and it would tune all channels according to the format. there was a switch that you could select M, B, J, S and other letters which represented different frequencies that the world broadcasted TV signals upon. If i am incorrect please someone else please feel free to join in. Logan
