Heath and Zenith

I just bought a replacement doorbell switch, and see what I found on
the packaging. On the reverse it said Made in China.

Sorry if this is off topic. It was meant as an example of the sad state
of things in the once glorious American (or North American, if you will
allow me) consumer electronics industry...

Yes, it really is sad. We seem to have forgotten quality and pride in this f'ed up so called modern world that we live in. Every step forward in technology seems to be four steps back in quality. This stuff is in landfills before the next year 'cause they make it out of so called "eco friendly materials" If that was the case, there wouldn't be lead and asbestos in toys for our children, and things would last longer so you don't have to throw them out. They keep telling us it's for the whole "going green" thing. The only "green" these corporations are concerned with is money. SAD.

Yep, I concur. Heath and Zenith (as we knew them) have no part of that product I'm sure. If they did it would be built in this country.

Sure, keep outsourcing, make the other guys rich. What a shame.
